The Metolius Preserve project will protect irreplaceable habitat for a variety of wildlife species, including a large herd of elk, and will be key in the effort to reintroduce sockeye and spring Chinook salmon to the Metolius Basin. The preserve also provides varied recreational opportunities for local residents and visitors alike. The BHF grant will help fund acquisition of the land.
