OMAS is committed to educate youth in small, relationship-based programs that emphasize personal responsibility, academics and service to the community. The CRUE (Corps Restoring the Urban Environment) program is a partnership between open Meadow Alternative Schools, The Wetlands Conservancy and Portland State University Institute for Portland Metropolitan Studies. Students must be 16 years or older. The program emphasizes the development of a positive work ethic and marketable job skills, as well as a healthy lifestyle and respect for others. The BHF grant will help fund 16 at-risk youth in a natural resource restoration program.
