Opal Creek

Mill City, Oregon

Opal Creek is the largest uncut watershed in western Oregon. It is one of the largest tracts (35,000) of old growth forest left in the U.S. and is located less then an hour from Salem, Oregon.

Opal Creek provides a great opportunity to educate the public in a pristine environment with a charming old mining camp of 'Jawbone Flats' that provides facilities for day and overnight camping for groups and families. Our grant will help to support a project to improve the septic system.
